When I was pregnant with J over 5 years ago, I spent my summer hand painting two Winnie The Pooh canvases for his nursery.  By nursery I am referring to his side of our master bedroom since, at the time, we lived in a very teeny, tiny bungalow.  However, just before J's first birthday, we moved into a much larger house, which meant he finally had a space to call his own.  With blank walls to decorate, I decided to paint him some new canvases.  This time I chose to do some animal artwork for his bedroom.

I really wish I could remember where I found the inspiration for these paintings, but nearly four years have passed since I finished them.

I made three paintings on 9" x 12" canvases and used acrylic paints.  Each painting was hand drawn and hand painted by yours truly.  As you can see, I painted a giraffe, a lion, and a zebra.  I purposely chose bright colored backgrounds so that they would pop against the rather plain paint colors in our house.

These paintings are now displayed in K's bedroom, but likely not for much longer.  As he grows older and displays his unique interests, we will likely change the theme in his bedroom.  Then these paintings will likely adorn the playroom walls instead.
