I came across this neat Magic Fizzing Shamrock Art project and thought the boys would have fun making it. So here is our version.
Materials

I cut out two large shamrocks from cardstock using my Silhouette Cameo (I LOVE that machine!). I rarely measure things when it comes to cooking so I kind of took the same approach with the paint mixing. I mixed a large heaping teaspoon with two heaping teaspoons of baking soda. The original inspiration used a different combination. Then I filled two spray bottles with vinegar and adjusted the nozzle to mist mode.
J loves to paint. The mere sight of me grabbing the paintbrushes and paint makes him drop whatever he's doing and shout, "YAY! Painting!"
K got into it too. He also gave the paint/baking soda mixture a taste...yuck...
I couldn't get an action shot of the boys spraying the shamrocks since K often likes to point spray bottles toward his face. And vinegar straight to the eyes would not be a good thing, so, like I said, no pictures.
Then the vinegar started to work its magic on the baking soda, which caught the boys attention.
When the paintings dried, we were left with these really cool textured shamrocks.
The clean up ended up being more fun for the boys than the actual art project was, but I will leave that for another post.
