Looking for kinetic sand activities for kids? Then you'll definitely want to try this simple fine motor sensory activity.
Have you played with Kinetic Sand before? It is absolutely amazing stuff to play with and my boys love when I pull it out for a quick, no prep sensory activity.
We recently added some colorful dollar store cups to the kinetic sand experience with this kinetic sand activity for kids.
It was a perfect way to explore math concepts, work on fine motor skills, and encourage imaginative play.
What You'll Need for this Fine Motor Kinetic Sand Activity
This fine motor kinetic sand sensory activity is so simple and requires no prep. You just need to grab the following materials and add them to a large container of some kind.
Toddlers & Preschoolers Will Love this Kinetic Sand Activity!
Now I have to say that when you fill the tall tube shots with kinetic sand, the result ends up looking like a little poop log. Seriously. That's why I didn't share any pictures of them, except for this one.
Regardless, the cups make awesome molds for the kinetic sand. Just fill them up and then you can hold the resulting 3D shape in your hands!
The cups also work great to do some stamping. For example, you can see J making cookies here.
Cookies quickly became muffins though. Imaginative play was in full swing with this activity!
K was a master muffin maker (awesome alliteration alert!). He loved to put the "muffin" in and out of his "muffin cup."
