My kids love simple activities and, well, so do I. No prep activities like our kinetic sand potato heads or any of these 50+ simple activities have kept the boys busy for hours. This silhouette guessing game was no different. Both boys enjoyed playing this game and it works great with any toys you have on hand.

This silhouette guessing game requires zero prep. All you'll need is:

  • Pin impression toy - I picked these up at Superstore for $6 each. They kept the boys entertained while we grocery shopped, which was an added bonus!
  • Assorted figures & toys - We used some of our Safari TOOBS figures.

To play the game, simply put a figure underneath the pin impression toy and encourage your child to guess the animal by looking at its silhouette. Here's a seahorse, for example.

Three year old K was particularly enamored with this game, as you will see in the photos that follow. He loved to explore different pin impressions all by himself, watching the pins transform to match whatever he put underneath.

Look at his interest in this activity. Don't you just love this photo?! I do!

"Oh look, a giraffe!"

I loved watching K's reactions to finding out what caused the impressions (if he couldn't guess them, that is). He loved to peek underneath and pull out the figure.

"It's a frog!!" said with big smiles.

The pin impression toys were great for a game like this, but they also make wonderful fidgets for sensory seeking kiddos!
