A list of 70+ books for kids with hyperlexia. Yes, finally a list of books that is hyperlexic kid approved!
When my hyperlexic son was a toddler, I read the book Dr. Seuss's ABC too many times to count. It was quickly ingrained in my head because he wanted to read it all the time. Actually, I wonder if I still know it off by heart or not?
Anyway...
When I was reflecting on these memories a few weeks ago, I became curious. What books did other parents of hyperlexic children read on repeat?
Well, I decided to find out!
I recently asked some parents of hyperlexic children to share the titles of the most loved books in their house.
The books their hyperlexic children have read over and over and over...until the spines fall off. Much like our copy of Dr. Seuss' ABC book (scroll down to the bottom of this super old blog post).
The books that get dragged around town, in the car, on the plane, to the playground...
The ones the kids would sign out constantly from the library (I'm looking at you book #5 in the number section!).
The books kids with hyperlexia hang onto while they fall asleep for the night.
Below you will find some of the best loved books for children with hyperlexia. Who knows...maybe you'll find a new favorite for your child!
Yep, I've gone ahead and compiled the ultimate list of hyperlexic kid approved books!
