Did you know that June 18th is Autistic Pride Day?
I didn't until very recently.
Honestly, I learned of it just a handful of days ago.
Since the chosen symbol for neurodiversity that the Autistic community prefers is the infinity symbol (not the puzzle piece!), I decided to make these super simple neurodiversity infinity symbol coloring pages for my kids to color in celebration of Autistic Pride Day.
Unfortunately, with distance learning and all the printing I had to do, we used up all the toner in my printer so we can't even print them off in time for celebrating the day this year. We'll just hand draw our own for this year, I guess.
Regardless, keep in mind that these coloring pages aren't limited to this particular day. You can use them for Autism Acceptance Month in April or even Neurodiversity Celebration Week in March. Or you can use them any day of the year to celebrate diversity and inclusion.
So What is Autistic Pride Day?
As the name suggests, it's a "pride celebration for autistic people held on June 18 each year." (source) It was first celebrated in 2005.
Autistic Pride Day is about all celebrating autistic people as unique individuals and "bringing about positive changes in the broader society." (source)
